Nicholas Grguras Obituary
Nicholas J. Grguras, of Etna, died peacefully at his home Monday, May 31, 2010. He was born June 28, 1923, in Pittsburgh, to the late Nicholas J. and Barbara Grguras. The beloved husband of the late Virginia (Bates) Grguras, who passed away in 2002, Nick is survived by two daughters, Sandra G. (Robert) Csikari, of McCandless, and Donna (Larry) Edmonds, of Parker; and two sons, Nicholas (Julie), of Pine Township, and Richard (Polly), of Franklin Park. He was the beloved grandfather of nine grandchildren, Steve and Tim Csikari, Sue Stack, Allison and Adam Edmonds, Dabney, Sarah, Zachary and Christopher Grguras; and six great grandchildren, Julianne, Madeline and Kyle Csikari and Riley, Kelby and Mulaney Stack. Also survived by brothers, Frank, Charles and Paul Grguras; and sister, Catherine Miller. He was predeceased by his sister, Fran. Nick served in World War II in the European Theater. He was a lifelong member of St. Nicholas Parish. His passion was gardening, which he passed along to his children and grandchildren. He was a kind, generous and funny man who will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. Visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in KYPER FUNERAL HOME, 2702 Mt. Royal Blvd. at Mt. Royal Cemetery, Shaler. Funeral prayer at 1:15 p.m. Friday followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. in St. Nicholas Church, Maryland Avenue, Millvale, with Father Dan Whalen officiating. Burial in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Reserve. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, 24 Maryland Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15209.
