Casque US M1 complet, nominatif coque et liner, insigne 29ème division d'infanterie US.
le casque lourd possède encore la quasi totalité de son cork et de sa peinture d'origine. initiales JP gravée sur l'avant. reste d'insigne peu visible, d'un diamètre de 7cm. numéro de coque bien lisible, pattes fixes. jugulaire tissus tâchée de rouille mais complète. Un gros J est gravé à l'intérieur de la bombe ainsi qu'un nom juste à gauche du numéro de lot, mais il est illisible à mes yeux. l'arrière de la coque présente plusieurs fêlures.
Le sous casque (liner) est un Firestone, complet également.
jugulaire cuir, bien souple avec boule en laiton, rivet non marqué du numéro de brevet. le Sweat band présente des tâches d'usures, de transpiration. les initiales PJ sont gravés dans le liner ainsi qu'un nom à l'avant "POURNIN" vraisemblablement.
l'extérieur du liner présente des traces de coups ainsi qu'une usure due aux frottements avec le casque lourd.
Insigne de la 29DI bien plus visible que celle sur la coque du casque lourd, diamètre également de 7cm environ.
Une belle pièce homogène, attestée par le fait que les 2 éléments du casque ont les mêmes initiales et noms avec une patine bien sympa !

the heavy helmet still has almost all of its original cork and paint. JP initials engraved on the front. remains of insignia barely visible, with a diameter of 7cm. legible hull number, fixed legs. Chinstrap fabrics stained with rust but complete. A big J is engraved inside the canister as well as a name just to the left of the batch number, but it is illegible to me. the back of the hull has several cracks.
The under helmet (liner) is a Firestone, also complete.
leather chinstrap, very flexible with brass ball, rivet not marked with the patent number. the Sweat band shows signs of wear and sweat. the initials PJ are engraved in the liner as well as a name on the front "POURNIN" probably.
the exterior of the liner shows traces of blows as well as wear due to friction with the heavy helmet.
Insignia of the 29DI much more visible than that on the shell of the heavy helmet, diameter also of approximately 7cm.
A beautiful homogeneous piece, attested by the fact that the 2 elements of the helmet have the same initials and names with a very nice patina!
